On a Monday, I need something relaxed. Something to ease me into the week. That’s what #MoodyMonday is all about. A song to listen to that will keep you chilled as a crispy cucumber.
This week, after a long hiatus, I went searching for that perfect song to play on a Monday morning and I came across this.
Shining Bird sound like Australia. Residing on the NSW south coast, in a place called Austinmer. No idea? Me either.

This song sounds like a lazy day relaxing on a beach, or a jetty, or a rock pool, or somewhere related to water. The laconic guitar, the swelling strings and the embracingly warm bass vocal of Dane Taylor give this song a summer ambience, despite being recorded in the Blue Mountains.
It reminds me of songs of my youth. A distinctly warm Australian accent, a single guitar and warm backing. It’s a delight for the senses.
All of a sudden, Monday isn’t so bad.
