Yum Yum have been getting in my ears more and more over the last few months and I have been keen to share them with you. Now, I can’t keep them from you any longer!
Consisting of Natalie Slade and Jayo James, Yum Yum have formed a power duo of luscious soul, RnB and funk, as they start to take over the local Sydney music scene. Now that they have teamed up with The Brass Knuckle Brass Band from Canberra, things have stepped up!
Do You Really? is a big-band inspired piece of funky goodness. Natalie’s voice stands out, with her soulful tinges and powerful delivery. Think Amy Winehouse without the tattoos and feral teeth. The song has a bongo-break, some DJ scratching and horns on point. What more could you want?
Worth listening to more than once to appreciate the many layers in this great tune. Look out for them near you!
