Rock duos. It’s a thing. From The White Stripes to The Mess Hall to Royal Blood. Watching two people make the rock is a cool thing. Particularly when they make you forget that there’s just two of them.
Polish Club do just that, bringing the raucous and rambunctious rockabilly sounds to the fore when they play. Having just supported Courtney Barnett in Sydney and selected to play at the Come Together Festival this weekend, these local lads are on the up and are being noticed everywhere.
Pajak & Novak look and sound like they’re having fun on stage. It’s frantic and loose and the recordings really DO sound like they’ve been done in a Marrickville factory. (fact.) Although Did Somebody Tell Me was released on Soundcloud over 4 months ago, it’s fresh and is 2 minutes and 17 seconds of frenetic fun. There’s no fancy production or expert recording techniques here. Just pure rock with a soulful influence.
