Tuesday Tunesday #33 | Smaal Cats – Morning Kerfuffle

You know you’ve found a good band when you listen to all the songs that you can find and you still crave more. This is the case with Small Cats, a 4-piece from the Northern beaches of Sydney.

They’ve been around a few years, having crafted their skills playing many, many gigs around town. I have been remiss in not catching them yet, but this will soon change. They did in fact launch their brand new EP last week at the Oxford Art Factory, so I am catching on way too late.

The lead song of the EP is Morning Kerfuffle. A cute name for a rollicking, bluesy, garagey song that ramps up the longer you listen to it. Listen to the whole Seagull EP. It’s a sweet ride, finishing off with a two-parter title track that burns into your brain.

The alternating warm and screechy vocals, the crooning bass and warm guitar chords are no fluke. These guys mean business. Expecting big things!

As the track, Morning Kerfuffle says, “Well, what are you waiting for?”.
