I’ve been following this band for a while as a dirty lurker. They’re one of those bands that I see gigging around Sydney all the time and I always just miss out on seeing. I even reviewed their song, P.O.W.E.R. back in 2013 and now finally I’m getting on board again
She Rex are Nikkita, Darcie, Skarlett and Sarah. They are inner-west Sydney legends and their distinctive logo can be seen on walls, footpaths and toilet doors throughout Newtown. These four talented chicks make music that can be described (lazily) as eclectic. It’s hip-hop. It’s electronica. It’s rock. It’s pretty fucking cool.
This song, ‘This Way’ is a driving little ditty with all those genres and more and now there’s an awesome video clip to go with it. Love the lazy drawn out vocals with a pumping cymbal driving it along. Partly filmed at ‘The Standard’, the clip gives you a good idea how much fun you could have seeing them live.
